Prince William County Fall Guide 2026

Fall has arrived in Prince William County, and there’s plenty to do before the leaves — and the season — disappear.

Whether you’re looking for a pumpkin patch with the kids, a crisp afternoon on the trails, a cozy coffee stop or an excuse to wander through Occoquan’s shops, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite ways to enjoy fall in and around Prince William County.

Saturday, Oct. 24 | 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, 15201 Potomac Town Place, Woodbridge

Costumes encouraged — including for four-legged family members. This free, pet-friendly community celebration includes kids and pet costume contests, arts and crafts vendors and plenty of Halloween atmosphere.

Saturday, Oct. 24 | 10 a.m.–noon
Veterans Memorial Park, 14300 Veterans Drive, Woodbridge

Skip the pumpkin mess at home and make a morning of this family pumpkin-carving event at Veterans Memorial Park.

Thursday, Oct. 29 | 4–6 p.m.
James S. Long Regional Park, 4603 James Madison Highway, Haymarket

A Halloween outing designed with younger children in mind, featuring costumes, games and trick-or-treating along the trail.

Friday, Oct. 30 | 7:30–9 p.m.
Ben Lomond Historic Site, 10321 Sudley Manor Drive, Manassas

Gather around the campfire at one of Prince William County’s historic sites to hear eerie stories connected to Ben Lomond’s past as a Civil War hospital, farm and private home. Bring your own chair and flashlight.

Admission: $5 per person; children 6 and younger are free. Advance registration is preferred.

Bristow

One of the closest true pick-your-own pumpkin patches for Prince William County residents. Yankey Farms grows its pumpkins on site, so visitors can head into the field and choose one where it actually grew. Fall activities also include a corn-maze scavenger hunt and cow train.

Sept. 19–Nov. 8 | Centreville

A Northern Virginia fall classic, with its famous hayride, giant slides, animals, rope swings and plenty of other activities. Tickets are sold online and popular dates can sell out.

Sept. 19–Oct. 31 | Bluemont

Pick pumpkins straight from the patch, tackle the corn maze, roast marshmallows and make time for the cider doughnuts. The farm also has a large play area and weekend pumpkin cannons.

Select weekends Sept. 19–Oct. 25 | Bealeton

Pumpkin picking, tractor rides, homemade treats, photo opportunities, a candy cannon and live music make Messick’s an easy fall day trip.

Sept. 19–Nov. 8 | Leesburg

Part pumpkin festival, part animal adventure. Pumpkin Village combines seasonal attractions with Leesburg Animal Park’s animals and family activities.

Bonus: A preview weekend is scheduled for Sept. 12–13.

Apple availability changes quickly, so check with each orchard before making the drive.

Delaplane | 1524 Snowden Road

Pick-your-own apples with sweeping countryside views. Hollin Farms also has pumpkins and fall vegetables available during parts of the season.

Markham | 3064 Hartland Lane

A traditional pick-your-own orchard offering apples into the fall. Hartland recommends calling before visiting because availability can change daily.

Bluemont | 18780 Foggy Bottom Road

Apple picking, cider, a corn maze and farm activities make this an easy choice if you want more than an orchard visit. Apple availability varies as the season progresses.

Sept. 26–27 | 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Historic Occoquan

Hundreds of makers and artisans take over historic Occoquan for one of the town’s biggest weekends of the year. New for 2026 is an Art Park featuring demonstrations and immersive art experiences. There’s also live music, a beer garden and family activities.

Manassas Museum area

Spend the day browsing artists, artisans and crafters in Old Town Manassas.

Saturday, Oct. 3 | 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Historic Downtown Manassas

More than 100 craft and community booths, food, live entertainment and kids’ activities fill downtown for this annual celebration.

2235B Tackett’s Mill Drive, Woodbridge

A welcoming neighborhood coffeehouse serving Turkish coffee alongside espresso drinks, breakfast dishes, baklava and cakes. An easy cozy stop without leaving Woodbridge.

Occoquan

Tucked inside a historic house in Occoquan, Secret Garden is especially charming in fall, with its garden patio and small-town surroundings.

9425 West Street, Manassas

Coffeehouse meets community gathering place in Old Town Manassas, with coffee, food and regular live entertainment.

6630 Jefferson Street, Haymarket

A bakery and coffee-shop stop for cupcakes, pastries and something warm to drink after a fall outing.

Oct. 23–25
Hylton Performing Arts Center, Manassas

Manassas Ballet Theatre opens its 2026–27 season with Jazz in Motion, pairing contemporary ballet with classic and contemporary jazz performed with the Kim Reynolds Band.

Performances: Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.

15125 Blackburn Road, Woodbridge

The Neabsco Creek Boardwalk is one of Woodbridge’s best easy fall walks, carrying visitors over wetlands with connections to the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.

15800 Silver Lake Road, Haymarket

A quieter option for a longer autumn walk, with miles of trails surrounding the lake and wooded areas.

14300 Veterans Drive, Woodbridge

A convenient Woodbridge option with trail access and connections to the Potomac Heritage Trail.

4701 Locust Shade Drive, Triangle

Wooded trails, a fitness course and picnic areas make Locust Shade an easy choice when you want to spend a few hours outdoors without driving far.

For a slow fall afternoon, it’s hard to beat wandering through historic Occoquan.

406 Mill Street, Occoquan

One of Occoquan’s newest additions, Buzz specializes in rare, vintage and collectible books inside the historic Ferryman’s House. If spooky-season reading is your thing, the shop is also hosting a Spooky Book Talk on Oct. 18 from 1–2 p.m.

199 Union Street, Occoquan

Another new independent bookstore for 2026, Cozy Calico carries new books and bookish gifts and hosts story times, book clubs, author events and writing programs.

A men’s boutique stocked with apparel, accessories and gifts with a modern, outdoorsy feel.

A stationery lover’s stop overlooking the river, with greeting cards, notebooks, pens, puzzles, candles and an especially fun collection of seasonal paper goods.

Crystals, stones and other spiritual and nature-inspired finds make this one of Occoquan’s more unusual browsing stops.

204 Washington Street, Occoquan

A tea and herbal-remedies shop stocked with loose-leaf teas, aromatherapy goods, mugs, natural remedies and quirky treasures. It also hosts its Leaves & Literacy book club and other events.

199 Union Street, Occoquan

Rain outside? Browse the shelves, pick up a new fall read and settle into the bookish side of Occoquan. The independent shop opened in spring 2026 and regularly hosts community events.

You don’t have to do everything on this list. Pick a neighborhood and build your own fall day: walk the Neabsco boardwalk and grab coffee in Woodbridge, spend an afternoon shopping and eating in Occoquan, or head west for apple picking, pumpkins and a drive through the Virginia countryside.
