Family Fun & Trick-or-Treating
Woodbridge/Stonebridge Fall-O-Ween (Sat., Oct. 24, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center): A free, family-friendly festival with seasonal fun for kids, families and pets.
Lake Ridge Trunk or Treat Festival (Sat., Oct. 24, 3–5 p.m., Association Office parking lot, 12350 Oakwood Drive, Lake Ridge): Local vendors and trick-or-treating.
Trunk or Treat at TLE Woodbridge (Fri., Oct. 30, 4–5 p.m., 12631 Smoketown Road, Woodbridge): Trunk-or-treat event; details on Facebook Events.
Bubbles & Boos Bash (Fri., Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m., Goldfish Swim School, Lake Ridge): Halloween bash at the Lake Ridge swim school. Tickets via Eventbrite.
Mall-O-Ween Boo Bash (Sat., Oct. 31, 1–3 p.m., Potomac Mills): Mall-wide, store-to-store trick-or-treating (look for pumpkin stickers in participating store windows), plus photo opportunities with roaming characters and a station in the Grand Court.
Trunk or Treat Vendors & Food Trucks (Sat., Oct. 31, 2 p.m., Brooke Manor): Trunk-or-treat with vendors and food trucks. Details via Eventbrite.
Prince William County Parks Programs
Myths and Legends of Rippon Lodge (Sat., Oct. 3, tours 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. or 2–3:30 p.m., Rippon Lodge Historic Site): A guided tour of the mysteries, myths, haunts and legends of the site. Advance tickets are required and space is limited. Guests should be able to walk on uneven surfaces, grass, gravel and stairs.
Take a Sip of History (Thu., Oct. 15, 6:30–8 p.m., Water's End Brewery, Lake Ridge): Ghost stories, hauntings and local lore from Prince William County history, presented with Prince William Historic Preservation. Free admission; ages 21 and up only.
Spooky Snacks (Wed., Oct. 21, 6–7 p.m., Birchdale Recreation Center): A Halloween cooking class designed for people with disabilities. Registration required; food allergies may be accommodated.
Ghost Hunters Showing (Fri., Oct. 23, Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre): A free outdoor screening of the Ghost Hunters episode filmed at the site in 2009. No tickets required; bring blankets.
Ghost Tour of Brentsville (Fri., Oct. 23, Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre): Following the screening, a candlelit tour of the grounds and historic buildings with ghost stories. Advance tickets required; space is limited.
Great Pumpkin Party (Fri., Oct. 23, 10:30 a.m.–noon, Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center): A costume party for children ages 2–8 and their parents, with games, music, dancing, crafts and snacks. All children must be registered.
Family Pumpkin Carving (Sat., Oct. 24, 10 a.m.–noon, Veterans Memorial Park): The 3rd annual carving event. Carving tools and one pumpkin are provided for each registered participant; the registration fee is per person.
Trunk or Treat (Thu., Oct. 29, 4–6 p.m., Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center): The county's first community Trunk-or-Treat, with staff from several PWC agencies handing out candy. Free.
Haunted Mini Golf (Thu. –Sat., Oct. 29–31, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Locust Shade Park): An 18-hole haunted course, family friendly.
Ben Lomond Ghost Stories (Fri., Oct. 30, 7–9 p.m., Ben Lomond Historic Site): Ghost stories around the campfire at the former Civil War hospital, farm and private home. Bring your own chair and flashlight. Tickets required.
Costumes & Décor
Spirit Halloween (2500 Prince William Parkway, Woodbridge): Costumes, animatronics and indoor/outdoor decorations, in the former Value City Furniture building.
Haunted Attractions
Haunt: Dark Encounters (Workhouse Arts Center, Lorton): One of the closest intense, haunted trails.
